I can c the world dying...

Its been a while since my last post. And this isn't coz m too busy with anything. Rather it was due to the blankness in terms of lack of any new ideas in the lazy atmosphere at home on one hand and the soaring temperatures on the other. The unbearable heat led me to ponder (i know this is lame but I had no better work to do....:P) over the situation as well as the reason that had led to it in the first place. A casual look around myself (including the idiot box) was enough to prove that things around us are not perfectly alright. Something's up with them. The world is no longer the same place it used to be a decade or two back. And then I realized the world is dying.....slowly but steadily, suffocating under its own weight, unable to bear the atrocities of the most intelligent species...its giving up finally and so I thought at least a tribute from my side would do it no harm.

A deep thought about the same(ya i do tax my brain at times...not quite often though...:P) revealed that the problems faced at the global level today are multi faceted and have spread their roots so deep within that they seem to be cancerous and are gripping the whole of humanity at such a fervent face that we are left with no other option than staring at the painful death of our own abode. Climate change and global warming are just one of the many issues threatening our very own survival. On one hand natural disasters like famines, floods and tsunamis are becoming rampant whereas on the other man made disasters like wars, terrorism, anarchy and recession are taking its toll. The time has come for a close introspection of the same before its too late and we won't have the time to repent. Pictures speak more than words and that is why I present a collection of pics depicting the various global issues.

1) Well here is a proof of the effect of global warming and the soaring global temperatures (a rise of bout 1.66-6.4°C is predicted in the near future). And this can have devastating effects of magnitudes far beyond our imagination with a chance for a considerable chunk of coastal areas to get submerged forever.

This image shows the Pedersen Glacier,Kenai Fjords National Park,Alaska in summer 1917 and summer 2005. The change is pretty alarming, isn't it?

An effect of drought in India can be visualized in the next pic and the condition of the farmer is enough to get an idea of his plight.

And the reason for this is the overzealous deforestation, extensive industrialization and unrestricted use of fossil fuels.
If this is not sufficient enough then we do offer solutions in terms of terrorism and unnecessary wars leading to huge losses of manpower, resources and God knows what.



Why don't the people give themselves a much needed break? Why don't they channelize their energy towards trying to solve the more persistent problems rather than killing each other? Whats the use of fighting in the name of religion or for some territorial advantages? How can the developed nations just ignore the problems of the deprived nations where millions starve and are unable to afford one square meal?

Well may be there's no use asking such questions coz there's no one to hear them in this power thirsty world. I just hope the mankind realizes this before its too late and we loose this world forever coz then they would have no one else to blame but themselves. We have lived for our sake pretty long and sucked mother Earth for decades together. Now its our turn to pay back and do something so that our future generations can have a glimpse atleast of what we used to call forests and what we knew as animals. Let us live a sustainable and meaningful life and stop draining our energy and intelligence over baseless issues. The time has come when the world needs us as much as we need it and lets not disappoint it. Otherwise we will be left with no option other than lamenting the death of the world...and that certainly wont help!!
